Q1(b). The following results were obtained on a 50 KVA, 2400V/120 V single phase transformer: OC Test: 396W, 9.65A, & 120V on LV side SC Test: 810W, 20.8A, & 92V on HV side Determine: 1) The circuit constants. 2) The efficiency at full load, 0.8 power factor lagging. [2 marks]
Q1(c). Explain the principle of operation and working of the single-phase transformer. [2 marks]

Q2(b). The armature resistance of a 200 V shunt motor is 0.4 ohm and no load current is 2 A, when loaded and taking an armature current of 50 A, the speed is 1200 rpm. Find approximately the no load speed. [2 marks]
Q2(c). The frequency of the emf in stator of 4-pole induction motor is 50 Hz, and that in the rotor is 1.5 Hz. What is the slip, and at what speed is the motor running? [2 marks]
